[Debian]mysql-server stopps working

hi, somehow my mysql-server stopps working on one of my setups.. if i try to reinstall it i get an error "i wasnt able to locate the file for mysql-server. this might mean that you have to manually fix this package" <--- could someone tell me how, please?
